Hello Friends! Leigh here, to share a brand new layout featuring the Color Kaleidoscope Stencils and Watercolor Markers! I created a simple stencil background with the markers and Matte Acrylic Gel to make a paste to spread through the new stencil.
The stencil area houses all the focus for this page. I added more texture with embroidery floss, stitched over the paste. This simple method of hand stitching is faster to create, since you only have a couple stitches per color. The Watercolor Markers were easy to use to color the gel and the colors came out fun and vibrant!
After you stitch on the floss, you can add little bits and bobs from the Hello Friend Color Kaleidoscope Thickers, Sticker Book, and Puffy Stickers. It was so fun to add the embellishments under and over the floss to create more texture on the page. Some of the embellishments are popped up with American Crafts Foam Dots, and they add interest to the layout as well.
I tucked the photo edges under the floss, and attached them to the floss with mini clothes pins. I thought this helped coordinate with the angles of the shopping cart in the photos. It also reinforces the yarn in the photos to add that texture on the page.
Add the title with the epoxy Thickers in the Color Kaleidoscope collection, and hand journal for a quick to finish page. This page has a simple design you can recreate with ease. Have you tried mixing the Matte Acrylic Gel with color mediums from Vicki? It is so fun to see what you can mix up!
I have a process video today, if you would like to see how the layout came together. Thank you for visiting today, and happy crafting!
