Hi there!
Nathalie here with the last post before we all take a small break for the Holidays. This week the DT has been showing how we document our December Traditions using Vicki's products. Well, I document my life in Traveler's Notebooks, however since Vicki gifted us one of her awesome Christmas kits and we are working on the #CaptureTheSeason photo challenge, then i am using the kit to document all the photo prompts.
I love adding title and filler pages to albums made with transparencies and vellum. So, i decided to use the new transparency sheets from Vicki's Field Notes release and create my own glitter glaze to work some of the pages.
It is so easy to create glitter glaze by mixing some Matte Acrylic Gel, some creative FX glaze (gold, silver, iridiscent and/or rose gold) and Vicki's fine glitter from the Mixology packs. This glaze can easily be tinted with watercolors or art crayons to match your color scheme.
The texture and sparkly look of these impressions are perfect to bring that extra sparkle and shine to your pages. These can easily be cut to be used as tags, title pages or as embellishments on pages.
This glitter glaze can easily be also used on foundation paper to create a super pretty textured tone-on-tone look that can bring the festive look to your album. Sometimes all it takes is some imagination to use mixed media on your pages.
For this page, i combined the circle stamp and die set with inks from the Color wheels and embossing powder for some of them, and matte acrylic gel and fine glitter for others. Once the circles were cut and glued in the tree shape, all that needed was a sticker from the All The Good Things collection and a title; love the texture and dimension of the foam glitter word places a top the page protector.
Another idea when using a non-traditional Christmas collection to document the Holidays is to look for festive colors and and create a cluster of texture. I pulled some stickers all in bright lime green from the watercolor and Chipboard stickers from the Field Notes collection, and paired them with a digital file. The small cluster of color makes the page come alive, and brings the sentiment of the picture forward. The following video, will give you a better look on how I used VIcki's products to create the title and filler pages, and a walk through of my completed pages of my December album.
I hope these have inspired you to use Vicki's products when documenting your December memories, regardless of the format you are using. AS always please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions on how it all came together.
Before we take a small break for the Holidays, on behalf of the DT, I would love to wish you all a very merry CHRISTMAS. May your holidays be merry, peaceful, and colorful!!!
XO
