Hello everyone!

Nathalie here to share a new layout that showcases the versatility of Vicki's new Let's Wander collection.  I am a breakfast fanatic, and discovered a small place, 2 blocks from our home, where they serve a delicious meal.  I am sure many of you love to take pictures of your meals, and are looking for ways of documenting them.  Well, the new Let's Wander collection is so versatile, it will make you Food Adventure documenting a dream. Let me show you..

How fun is that page!  it is the perfect combination of paper and mixed media to document a delicious meal.   Though all the polaroid frame cut outs filled the page, there is a bit of mixed media o the background of the page...

 

I started this page with a color cardstock and the new texture pastes.  The texture pastes were diluted to the consistency of watercolor; these were added to the  cardstock to form a row of colorful splatters.

 

 

Next, i pulled the new metallic paints and use them to create a soft impression of one of the new stencils on the background. The stencil brush is the perfect tool to create  soft impression on the page.

 

To finish the background work, i used a bit of Texture paste  and the star stencil to create a small impression on the page.  These will help to frame the picture and make it stand out.  Now it is time to put the page together...

 

 

First, i trimmed the background and framed it with the b side of the Around Here paper.   Next,  i fussy cut all the polaroid frames from the Picture Perfect paper and use a few of them to create the row of embellishments on the page.

 

I used the Fly Away paper to back the picture, and then attached it to page with foam adhesive.  I also fussy cut a few cut apart pieces from the 6x8 paper pad and layered them behind the picture. The polaroid frames already have plenty of illustration, so a few stickers and cut aparts is all that was needed.

 

 

The small title comes from the Stickers sheet, and it was placed at the bottom of the picture which created the perfect place for the journal lines.   The final addition was  a few stamped sentiments (Let's Wander stamp set) around the page.   The following video will show you how this came together:

Hey friends!  Hope you are having a fabulous week!  I know for some of you this is back to school week.  Hope you got through that unscathed.  We have a week and a bit before the kids go back.  I am looking forward to it, but a little sad too.

Photos from The Scrapbook Event in Puerto Rico

I have so many photos to share from Puerto Rico.  I thought it would be a good idea to split them up over a few days.  Today I am going to share the photos from the actual EVENT.  Let me tell you a bit about it.

I met Yamille a year or so ago at CHA (the Craft and Hobby Associations trade show).  Elizabeth Kartchner was talking about what a great time she had teaching in Puerto Rico and she introduced us.  Fast forward to CHA Winter in Anaheim this year.  I spent a little time chatting with Yamille and she asked me if I would come and teach.  I said yes and the ball started rolling from there.  This years event had a heavy mixed media flavour with Christy Tomlinson, Ania Dabrowska, Marion Smith and myself teaching.  Yamille asked me to teach a few layout classes with techniques and the rest is history!

I have to say that is was a great event!  The ladies (and men) were eager to learn and super friendly, the event was well organized, the store was STOCKED to the brim with great stuff, the manufacturers were beyond generous with the kits...like I said...great event.

Ania and I were a team for a Mixed Media Idol Challenge.  We had to work together to create a canvas in 20 minutes.  It was a hoot!!!

Great event!  So glad I got to meet Yamille and so thankful that she invited me to be a part of her event.  Her staff was efficient and friendly and her family was great too!  Thanks to Juan Carlos for the tech help and the dollar for a diet coke!

Stamp Winners and a few Crop & Create Winnipeg Photos!!

Wow, my friends!!!  Thanks for all of the posts and kind words regarding my new stamps with Stamping Bella!  It was wonderful to first have Emily's support when I approached her about making the stamps and then to get such an awesome response here when I posted them...it was good.  Thanks!

Then Catherine handed me the new CardMaps 2 and I fell in LOVE!!!  I knew the sketches would be great, Becky is just cool like that but then the cards everyone created blew me away!!!  This is a must have card book.  Sketches, techniques, tons of great projects.  Just.  Plain.  Good.

So I mentioned I was in Winnipeg for the latest Crop & Create.  It was a blast!!!  I met so many GREAT ladies and saw a few old friends.  The Delta was a suberb hotel with the most courteous and helpful staff!  The food was yummy and the classes went smoothly.  I also have to say that the stores that attended really brought their A game and it was a bustling marketplace!  Thanks Winnipeg for another great event!!!  And thanks to Nicole for helping to TA my classes.  You were such a help!!!
