Hi friends, it's Mari here for the Vicki Boutin Design Team! I want to share a design with you today that could be created as a 12x12 OR scaled down to an 8.5x11 layout!
If you simply downsize the dimensions of the papers you are using, it is easy to scale a layout down to 8.5x11. I added a 2.5 x 8.5 strip of the Journal paper from Color Study to the top half of my white cardstock. On a 12x12 layout, this piece would be 2.5 x 12.
I added two rectangles of the Array of Colors paper behind my photos. One rectangle has the A side showing and is 4 x 5.5. The other has the tone on tone teal dot showing and is 5.5 x 5. I offset these two papers slightly. Again, for a larger layout these dimensions would be slightly larger.
A smaller layout can be embellished in exactly the same way as a larger one; I have added die cuts diagonally across from each other creating an eye line through the photos. The Color Study collection has so many beautiful die cuts to choose from!
I completed the layout with some of the cardstock stickers from the 6 x 12 sticker sheet from Color Study and some of the puffy hearts and dots from the puffy sticker sheets.
There are so many different size options in memory keeping! Sometimes it is nice to change things up! I used a sketch for my project today as well. Creating in a smaller size with a sketch can also help complete projects more quickly when you have lots of photos to document and you have a limited amount of time!
Thank you for stopping by the blog. You can see the full video tutorial of the layout here on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/2hxYnWzLKKM
