Hi friends, it's Mari Clarke here! Welcome to the Vicki Boutin blog today! I am so excited to share my first project today using the beautiful Storyteller collection!
I started my project by marking off the center point on my Foundations paper using a pencil and my ruler. I wanted to create a reference point for centering my photos and mixed media on the page.
Once I had that reference point marked, I added some Art Crayon in a light blue. I scribbled the Art Crayon on some plastic packaging, added water to the crayon and mixed it up with a paint brush. Then I ran my brayer through the watered down pigment and applied it to my Foundations paper.
Once the blue pigment was dry, I added some yellow, orange and red crayon (mixed together) with the dry stencil brush and one of the Storyteller stencils.
I added the pigment to the upper left corner and the lower right corner.
I added some stamping to each of the corner stencil areas using the Storyteller stamp set (the leaf stamp) and some of the Vicki Boutin gold ink.
I also wanted to add some texture to the next layer of mixed media. I added some of the Iridescent Glaze through script Storyteller stencil using my Vicki Boutin palette knife.
Once the glaze dried, I added a layer of tissue paper and some of the 8x6 patterned paper from the Storyteller paper pad to each of my 3x3 photos.
Once the photo mats were finished, I added die cut embellishments to the side of each of the photos.
To finish the layout, I added some of the lovely chipboard hearts and some journaling strips as well as a bit of patterned paper and sewing to the far left side. I love how this turned out! I just love the Storyteller collection!
