Hi there!
Nathalie here today to share with you a new project that combines rainbows, mixed media and banners in one page! I mean, we are all slowly restarting life, and still will be a while before we can all be allowed to travel again. So, i pulled a picture of one of our vacations to try and relieve those lovely moments. What better way to bring happiness to a page than a rainbow, the rest is history...
I love how this turned out, and it was easy to put together by building the rainbow watercolor using a single base color for the entire page.
I started with a foundation paper, and added diluted art crayon to form my rainbow color. The key to create a nice color gradient is to work continuously and build the color upon the previous one. This means, i saved a bit of the first color to build the next one, and so on.
To add a bit of shine to the page, i used one of Vicki's previous release stamp and metallic ink, but had to add a few splatters of diluted gold glaze to really achieve the pop of shine on the page.
Once the background completely dried, i started working on the banner piece. My starting point was one of the tags from the Mini Album set. I trimmed it to fit my picture, then pulled pieces from the Let's Wander collection that matched the colors of the background. The 6x8 paper pad was perfect for the banner pieces, as the smaller scale print helped to define the color area. In addition, i pulled the 6x8 pre made mixed media paper pad to create one of the tags, too.
To balance the large banner formation, i added a few strips of washi tape at the bottom of the page. Then created a large cluster next to the title piece. The tiny envelopes are so cute, and perfect to house my lines of journal. You can see this page come together in the following video:
I hope this inspires you to mix paper, color and mediums in your next page. There is so much you can create with Vicki's products and collections!!!
