Hello friends!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new page all about the adventures of our everyday lives. Sometimes we forget to take the time to savour those small mundane moments that can wow us. So, today, i want to show you how easy you can use the new Let's Wander collection to document those moments.
We LOVE watching sunrises from the comfort of our balcony, so i used the colors of the sky as my starting point for this page, and decided to use the new texture pastes to build my background.
I diluted a bit of Sugared Strawberry and Crushed Pineapple texture paste with water, and then used the pigment as watercolor in my background. I simply added splatters of the watercolor to a Foundation page, and move the pigments around with the brushes. I set this to dry completely before moving on.
Since my idea was to recreate the sky on my page, i pulled the new Star stencil and the new acrylic paints (Gunmetal and Champagne gold) to create a soft impression on the page. I mixed the paints together (1:8 ratio dark to light) and then used a stencil brush to create the impression on the page.
The cotton candy sky had hints of purple and violet in it, which inspired me to add texture to the page. For this i mixed a bit of Blueberry Pie with Sugared Strawberry with Iridiscent glaze and run it through the same stencil using a palette knife. I loved having the gold ghost impression on the background, and the purple-ish texture stars on top.
Once the impression dried completely, all i had to do was put the page together... First i trimmed the page on all sides and framed it with the Fly Away paper. I used the same paper ( plus the beautiful watercolor sunset paper from the 6x8 paper pad) to back and layer the picture. Then build clusters around the corners of the picture using ephemera, stickers and cut apart pieces from the 6x8 paper pad. But, the little envelopes are just amazing!!, i had to use them to add my journal lines!
To bring the dark areas of the image, i chose to create small labels (WRMK label maker) and add them to page following the diagonal design of the background. To finish the page, i created a small peek-a-boo slit at the bottom of the page, and backed the space with a piece of washi tape.
I hope this inspires you to check the new Let's Wander collection, it is starting to show at different scrapbook retailers, and also quickly selling out! So be on the look out.
Thank you for so much for joining me today!
