Nathalie with you today with a new project for the Vicki Boutin DT. Though i love documenting all those special memories and milestones of our family, my favorite memories to document are those everyday moments. So, today i want to show you a fun way to document homework using Vicki's mixed media and paper lines.
I was inspired by the images on the FIeld Notes paper to create this page. First, i cut a 4x12in strip of this paper, and layered a piece of the Abstract Moments behind it before gluing it to a foundation paper. A bit of gesso was then added to prep the are where all the mixed media will be added.
A mixture of Iridiscent glaze and texture paste was used to create the stenciled impression (Heidi Swapp stencil, and All The Good Things collection). A bit of art crayons -inspired by the color wash on the Field Notes paper- were used to create a soft color and drips on the background.
While the background dried, i fussy cut a few of the images from the Field Notes, Good Stuff and Take Flight papers. The pictures were backed with backed and layered some of these fussy cut pieces, and set on the page with foam adhesive.
I used all the fussy cut elements along with ephemera and stickers from the Field Notes collection to create the clusters that frame the pictures. The soft stenciled impression brings texture to the page, and also interest to thepictures, so just a few embellishments are necessaty.
To complete the page's visual triangle, a small cluster of the fussy cut elements and some stickers. The stencil word sets the perfect bakground forthe title of this page.
