World Card Making Day and a GIVEAWAY!!!!!!

It's a day early but I just coulcn't wait!!!

First...

Pink Paislee!!!

 

Here are some details...

 
Here is what I came up with...

I love STAMPS!  I also love things that sparkle and layers!  So my challenge is to layer stamps on your card!!  I went with Ranger Perfect Pearls over a text stamp and then layered a black image on top!!  You can do this, or stamp a base with colored ink, paint, Glimmer Mist...whatever you like!!  Just layer the look!!!

Here is how I got there...

Brush on Ranger's Perfect Pearls while ink is still wet.  Brush off excess.

 

 
Stamp Bicycle in black ink.

 
Oooh!!!  So sparkly!!!

 
Gather your bits!

 
Assemble the card!!

Fall Issue of Scrapbook & Cards, Today...Have You Seen It??

The new issue of Scrapbook & Cards, Today magazine!! Isn't it pretty?!?!  Love Kelly Goree's cover.  She is just that good.  Go take a look HERE and there is a blog giveaway HERE.

Fall is my favorite time of the year and that makes this issue a special one for me.  I love the color palette that is prevelant in this issue.  Lots of eye candy!  This month's Designer Notebook features spray inks.  I love those little bottles of magic!  Here is the layout I created.  I actually really like this page!

 

 

I used some of the Pink Paislee Mistable papers and the Mistables mask for the background pattern.

One more thing!!!  Did you get a copy of the 2011 SCT Sketch Calendar last year?!?!?!  Did you love it???  Well, guess what???!!!  The 2012 SCT Sketch Calendar is back!!  It will be available for pre-order on October 14th!!!  Take a peek...

PC or Mac??

Hey friends!  How is your week going so far?  I am writing instructions.  Not my favorite job but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

So I have a burning question...PC or Mac?  I need a new computer.  This one is on it's last leg.  I went to Best Buy and spent some time with one of their "advisors".  Looked at laptops, looked at PC's and I looked at the Mac's.  I am stuck.  I think I am leaning towards a Mac desktop but I have concerns about the learning curve and time needed to understand the differences between a PC and a Mac.

I need some help.  If you have made the switch please weigh in here.  I am not the "techy-est" girl around and I have absolutely no patience.  What are your thoughts?

Garage Sale

Taking a break.  Just kitted 100 kits for Crop & Create with my very wonderful mother.  She is soooo good to me!!!  Next comes the garage sale stuff.  I have boxes of retired kits, paper packs...tons of stuff!  I need to clean it all out to make room for all of the next round of classes.

For the Love of Junking!!!

Hello blogging friends!  It's Wednesday and I have been hard at work on a few class projects.  Crop & Create Saskatoon is at the end of this month and I am looking forward to seeing all of my SK friends!!!  I am teaching two workshops including a new technique class.  Should be a ton of fun!!!  Here are a few peeks..

This past weekend I woke up at the crack of dawn and headed to the Christie Antique Market with my momma.  It is held in the spring and in the fall and I always try to hit at least one of the shows.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time picking and perusing the stalls.  I even took a few photos (big surprise!!!)...

 

 
 
  

 

 

 

 

There was just so much to see!!!  It also got hot by lunch time and I was not prepared for that.  But, it didn't stop me from scoring some great junk!!!  Here is my loot...

Do you remember these figurines from Red Rose tea??  This is a very special item that reminds me of afternoons spent with my sweet Grandma.  Love this old lady in the shoe.

Huge score!!  Love this chest!  Funny thing...it came from Pt Dover and that is where my Mom and Dad spend their summers!  Love it!

The 7 Gypsies Winner is...

Taking a break from my preparations for a Garage Sale I am planning for Saturday and possibly Sunday.  Lots of retired scrapbooking class kits and stuff to get rid of.  I will also be back tomorrow to share some photos from Christie Antique Fair that I went to this past weekend.  I found some great stuff!

Lots to Say and Share Today and of Course a 7 Gypsies Giveaway!!!!! CLOSED!!!

Short weeks always seem to go by so fast.  The kids have enjoyed being back at school and love their new teachers.  That makes me a happy momma.  I had time to organize product for classes and edit some photos.  I also cleaned some of this disaster of a house.  But like the week going by quickly, so does 9am-3:30pm!

I spoke with my dear friend Cassandra today.  She is one of the most wonderful, the funniest, hard working, generous to a fault, loving wife and mother I know and whe is struggling with acute mylogenous lukemia.

 

Here's Cass with her sweet girl, Brittany. This is her story in the Welland Tribune.  If you happen to live in the Niagara Pennisula and you want to help out a very worthy family, I hope to see you at the Market Square in Welland this Sunday between 9am-3pm.  I love this girl and her family and want to do anything I can to make her days a little brighter.

Another thing I love are great scrapbook stores and the people who put their heart and souls into them.  One of those stores is closing.  I have taught and shopped at Scrapalicious for a few years now and was so sad to find out today that they are closing their doors at the end of the month.  So sad.  I love the ladies (and guys) from this store and wish them nothing but the best in whatever the future holds for them!!!  I'll miss you!

It was amazing.  Glad I was able to witness it.

I am going to update my class schedule on this here blog this week.  I will be at Crop & Create in Saskatoon at the end of the month with  Scrapbook & Cards, Today magazine.  I am teaching two workshops and I can't wait to see my SK ladies!!!  Will you be there?  There are still a few spots left!!  I hope you can make it because we are going to have some fun!!  Have you checked out everything going on on the Crop & Create facebook page???  Get on over there!

Back to Reality

Summer is over.  Wow.  That was fast!  They say time goes faster as we get older and this year I have to agree.  Today the kids went back to school...

 

 

 

I have mixed feeling as I sit here writing this post.  I am happy to return to a routine.  I am happy that it is quiet.  I am missing them...a bit.  I worry about them...a lot.  Being a Momma is hard on the heart. 

With that...back to a routine for me, my blog and my art.  REALLY happy for that!  I miss creating for the sake of creating.  I miss keeping in touch with my friends here.  I miss having a schedule and structure.  I have real issues with that even though I have competing personality types.  Part of me wants to float around and do this and that and my other half needs to make a list and follow it!  HA!  I have an internal battle going on and the flaky half of me has been winning all summer!  It's time for the structured half to get some power back!

Let's start with Creative Escape!!!  This event was seriously the most fun I've had teaching in a long time!  I learned that Power Point is my friend and Heidi Swapp and the team at Bazzill are a class act!!!  The people were sooooo friendly and happy to be there and I had two of the best TA's!!!  Thanks again to Jamie and Leighann fo all of their help...these ladies run a tight ship!  Also a special thanks to Jamie for the "props" she brought along for my Trunk Show...

 

The trunk show...so much fun!  I had the opportunity to meet so many people!  Wow.  Again what an experience!
