Happy Wednesday! So much to talk about since we last chatted. The family and I went back to Chicago to visit American Girl. It was a great weekend!! Chicago is such a beautiful and CLEAN city! The kids loved splashing around at Millennium Park, riding the double decker bus, visiting Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium and The Field Museum and watching the Air and Water show! Good times all around! The drive home was TERRIBLE, though. We hit a detour, traffic and finally made it home at 3am. Long time in the car.
Here are a few photos...
Some of you may have seen me a month or so ago on The Shopping Channelhere in Canada demoing the Slice diecutting machine. Well, I will be back on the show tomorrow talking about the Making Memories Vintage Groove Jewelry!! I love this stuff! Anyone that knows me knows I love to accessorize! As soon as I saw Jill Schwartz's jewelry when it was introduced by Making Memories, I knew I had to have it. The pieces are so easy to create and you make your own custom jewelry in minutes. Here are a few of the pieces I have made...
Like I said...love these jewelry making pieces...so easy and fun! I will be on at noon, 4pm and 8pm. Wish me luck!
On Monday I posted a challenge on the Scrapbooks and Cards, Today blog. Basically, I want you to scraplift yourself! If you have been a paper crafter for awhile than you have probably created a number of projects. My challenge is to go through some of your older stuff and find a design or technique that you want to try again. Here is what I found...
I liked the "stamp blocking" technique I used on this layout from 2008. I decided to give it another go on a card...
I stamped the Hero Arts Doll images(CL289 Dolls) on white cardstock to start. Next, I punched some circles from cardstock and partially stamped the doll images on them. Then I placed the circles on top of the images on the white card. I did not lift the circles with 3-D adhesive due to the smaller scale of the card.
This is a fun fun challenge and something I do all of the time. You don't have to go any further then your own work sometimes to find some inspiration!
I have lots of classes booked for the fall (I will be adding the dates in the column to your left) I am not teaching that much this year so check out the dates and I hope you can come out and play with me in Kingston, Mississauga, Welland, Oshawa, Saskatoon or France!! New workshops will include a 7 Gypsies "junk" minibook with lots of Ephemera and new CHA Summer goodies, the new 7 G's Letterblock shadow tray!! A new layout class using the Indie Girl line from Sassafras (GORGEOUS!!!), a Doodlebug class, a Hero Arts with Cosmo Cricket class, lots of Ranger stuff and more! Can't wait!
Happy Birthday to your little one!
My baby just turned 11 - yikes, and she looks even older...
Your pictures of Chicago are gorgeous - nice angles. Wish I could have joined you for CHA; I've heard nothing but positive comments on this year's event.
