I Love Fall!

We played in the leaves on Monday.  It was a gorgeous day, so after school we grabbed the rake and enjoyed a little fall fun.  I love this time of the year and my kids do, too.  I can't wait for this weekend!  Halloween is another favourite around here!  It will be nice to have trick or treating on Saturday rather than a school night.  Do you have big plans for this weekend?  Are the kids costumes ready?  I would love to hear what types of characters your kids are going out as.  We have a ninja and a devil or princess (or both!).  I will post some photos on Friday after the party at school.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of teaching at Marchant Paper Memories in Kingston, ON.  What a great store!  I wish I would have had time to shop!  There were so many little goodies...I will have to go back and take a good hour to explore!

I promised cards last week and I will post them soon.  I also want to do a little demo for the flowers I made from Coffee filters in the fall issue of Scrapbooks, Etc.  I will post the layout and images for that tomorrow or Friday.  It is a super fun technique and easy, too! 
 
 
 

Hey, It's Monday!

And what a beautiful Monday it is!  The sun is shinning, I am back from BC and I so enjoyed sleeping in my own bed!!!  The BC Creative Expo was a big hit!  My mom travelled with me and we had a very nice time.  The classes were good, I saw a bunch of my scrappy friends and we are already planning our visit for next year!  Thanks to all of the people who attended my workshops, thanks for the laughs and catching up with my girls and thanks to Kerri, Marsha and the rest of the gang for a great event!

Before I left for BC, I created a few projects for Lily Bee Designs.  I have talked about this company in the past and told you all about there beautiful paper lines and I am happy to report that I am the Guest Designer for the month of October!  You can visit the Lily Bee blog HERE for great project idea.

This weekend I am off to Kingston on Saturday to teach at the Marchant's Paper Memories.  I am really looking forward to going to this store...I think I bought stamps there years ago...my first ever "paper" craft related purchase!  I will be teaching the Gypsy Magic class and I think the crew there will be in for a good time!  Can't wait!

For anyone attending Scrapfest U in November, I have added a post on the FORUM with a little more info on my classes.  If you have any questions, post them on the thread or email me.  That event is about 3 weeks away!  We are going to have so much fun!!!

Back From the Netherlands and the RAK Goes to......

I am back!  Actually, I was back on Tuesday night at midnight but I had a little trouble with jet lag yesterday.  First thing I am going to do is announce the winner of the card making RAK!  I will be sending out a set of stamps, a few card bases and embellishments to....

Cute cute cute!!! I love the brightness of the card. Great blog too!

I had a wonderful time in the Netherlands at the Cherry Pie event!!!  The hotel was gorgeous, the Cherry Pie team/teachers were so friendly and helpful and the ladies who came to play were AMAZING!!  It was truly an awesome experience!  If they decide to hold the event again in the spring and you are able to attend, I say GO!  You will not be disappointed.

I have to thank the ladies who helped me with my classes...Anya, Judith and Annemeike.  You were all so friendly and willing to run around for me!  I love the ribbon and fabric, Judith and thanks for the candy, Annemeike!!!

A special thanks goes to Natasja!  What a great lady!  She is a super talented scrapper and the best host ever!  She picked me up in Dusseldorf and took care of me every moment until it was time to drop me off again in Dusseldorf!  Thanks for introducing me to your lovely family and your many furry friends!  We didn't know each other prior to the Cherry Pie Event but I am happy to call her a friend now!!!

 

 
 
 

A Little Kaisercraft...

The folks at Kaisercraft asked me to play with some of their new releases and I of course said, sure!!! I love the Loire Valley line and the Pina Colada line and I created two layouts using these releases...

I cut the large flowers out and spritzed them with Glimmer Mist to add a little sparkle!  The birds are rub ons that I layered on the layout.

 I loved the colours in this line!  Perfect for summer photos!!!

The large flamingo rub on was probably my favourite element in  the entire release!  I had to colour it in!  I used coloured pencils to colour it and then spritzed it with Glimmer Mist.  The coloured areas resisted the ink and made a dappled effect.

World Card Making Day and a RAK....

It's almost here!  This Saturday, October 3rd is World Card Making day or WCMD!  I love to make cards and was happy to participate in this crafty celebration!!!  Let's start with my card...

Materials:

Stamps- Hero Arts (Thanks So Much), Fontwerks (butterflies, Embroidery stamp)

Patterned paper and buttons- Sassafras

Cardstock- Prism Papers 

Adhesive- Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Mist- Maya Road 

Ink- Ranger Inks

I love the butterfly stamps from Fontwerks and I wanted to jazz them up a bit so I misted cardstock with copper Maya Mist...

And then I stamped the butterfly images on the spritzed cardstock with Archival Ink and I cut them out.
