So, I left on Friday to for Smith's Falls to teach at Tomorrow's Treasures for the weekend. What a lovely time of the year to drive way down the 401 to the Kingston area! The trees were in full autumn splendor and the final leg of the trip in to Smith's Falls was absolutely stunning!!! I saw a field of wild turkeys and a porcupine!!! Yes, a porcupine!!! Unfortunately, the little guy had gone off to meet his maker.
As I pulled in to the town of Smith's Falls, I was instantly enamored!! It was quaint and so pretty. I found the store easily and Angie, the owner was waiting outside to greet me. The store was located in an older building that was bursting with charm!!! There was a courtyard and a few other shops- a cafe, a gift store and a framing shop. I had a few Chai Tea Lattes during my stay and droppped a little money at the gift shop, too! I will post pics of my cute finds later. Now for Angie's store...it was fabulous! The floors were worn and there was a big fireplace on the back wall and it was vintage and just perfect! There was a big crop space on the second floor and that is where I found 40 scrappers all working away and ready to have a fun weekend and let me tell you...we had some fun!!!!
Here is one of the projects we created....
The house is by Crafty Secrets and the Halloween papers are the Salem line by Scenic Route Paper co. It was fun to make! The second class I taught used the Indian Summer line by Sassafras Lass and we did four pages. Here is a peak at that one...
The ladies were great!!! We had a good time chatting and laughing, of course! I like to have fun and keep it light when I teach...I even messed up demoing and one of the ladies called me a loser!! LOL!! Gotta love that!!! They know me so well. The food was oh so yummy!!! (especially the truffles...thanks, debbie!!!!!) And the classes were well received.
Thanks so much to Angie and Debbie!! Thanks for dinner too!!!
