Hello Mixed Media friends! I wanted to share a layout for our friends who live in areas without seasons! Both my sister and I live in climates that don't have distinct seasons, and autumn leaves. Also this is an idea so that our friends on the other side of the globe, who are the middle of spring, could also be inspired by a different take on Autumn leaves.
It is mostly cacti and palm trees where I live, so I went with seasonal coffee drinks, and was inspired to create leaves with the vibrant colors of the Field Notes line. I simply hand-cut the leaves with scissors.
Here is a close up so you can see the leaves better. I cut some in half and used the Mixed Media Art Paper to watercolor with Art Crayons and the Watercolor Brushes. Some are stitched, and some are pierced and marked with a gel pen, since my sewing machine quit working while doing this layout! Necessity is the mother of invention in this case. :) I typed with my We R typewriter for the journaling.
At this angle you can see the dimension created with foam dots under some of the leaves. The leaves are placed to look like they are blowing in the wind, or falling down the page. It creates more movement on the page.
I added more of the blue splatters that coordinate with the preprinted background paper, called Collect and Document. I love the subtle moths on the background as well! Some of the leaves are stamped on using the Field Notes Stamp and Die Sets.
Thank you for visiting today, Leigh
