What a weekend! As you may recall Scrapfest U was at Hockley Valley this past weekend. It was an amazing event! The venue was beautiful with great food, nice rooms for the classes and a very friendly staff. The ladies who attended were wonderful and so much fun! I was especially excited to see two dear friends who decided at the last minute to come and hang out...
Thelma and Louise!!! (AKA Dorrie and Laurie)...what an awesome surprise!!
I was able to grab a few photos this time around! I often take my camera with me and it never sees the outside of my camera bag! This time my camera came out to play for a few minutes.
A quick one from my second class on Saturday.
That's me, Lisa (Miss Scrapfest) and Kathy Thompson Laffoley (a wonderful photographer and lady!)
The whole crew.
Great time! Can't wait for the spring for Scrapfest!!!
A few of you have emailed me recently after seeing a project I did in the latest issue of Scrapbooks, Etc.
This is the cover and if you notice the photo in the lower right corner is a close up of a coffee filter flower I made. Here is the layout ...
Notice the stamp on this page? It is a coffee ring!! I love this stamp from Studio Calico!!!
I promised last week that I would do a little demo on how to create the coffee filter flowers and here it is!
1. Fold a coffee filter in half.
2. Fold the outer sides towards the center in a "pleated" fashion.
3. Twist the bottom of the flower to hold the shape.
4. Mist the flower shape with Glimmer Mist and dray with a heat gun. Mist the flower again with a second, darker color and dry.
5. Flower misted with two shades of glimmer mist.
6. Trim the twisted end of the flower and tape.
7. Cut a small triangular shape for the base of the flower.
8. Round the base of the flower with a pencil.
9. Attach the rounded base to the flower.
Here is a card with the completed flower! I used the Hero Arts Antique Flower Background Stamp to stamp the base of the card with an ink pad that was slightly darker than the cardstock. The "Happy Memories" phrase is from the Captions Messages from Hero Arts.
Let me know if you have any questions!! Hope you give it a try!

Was great, Vicki. Lisa and her friends outdid themselves, but then again, so did YOU!

What an awesome idea! Love it! I'm thinking I will have to scraplift the Timmie's layout too because my husband has a love hate relationship with Time Hortons too :)
