Hello! It is Wednesday and I am finally getting around to posting! I have A LOT to say! On your mark, get set, GO!!!
Went to the farm with Devyn's class to see the Spring Lambs yesterday. It was a beautiful day and the lambs were so, so cute. Wanna see?
So, do you agree? Cute, eh? Or Huh, for my American friends! :)
Last night, I took the kids to the show to see Monsters vs. Aliens 3D and I have to say that I LOVED it! I laughed out loud (and I mean LOUD) a few times! Felt good to laugh like that and we left the movie thoroughly satisfied!
Speaking of being satisfied with money spent at the movies...bought Twilight on DVD...was hoping I would like it more the second time around...not so much. Have you seen the movie?? Did you read all of the books? What did you think? My advice for those who have seen the movie but have not read the books. Don't let the movie stop you from reading the books. They are well worth the three days it will take you to read the series! LOL!
I need some good book suggestions! Someone told me about another vampire series but I can't remember what it was. I need to get lost in a good book.
So, I have been scrapping like a mad woman this week! I have all of the sample ready for Scrapfest in Kitchener on April 17th and 18th! Yay! I am still waiting on a few pieces but the bulk of the work is done!
Here is the Resist, Masking and More Workshop for Saturday morning (6 spots remaining as of Wed. night)
We will be working on 8 cards in this class and there will be lots of extras left to play with at home. If you are attending there are a few extra things you will need in class. Supplies students should bring to class: A Basic tool kit (including a paper trimmer), baby wipes, your favourite stamping inks including black (inks will also be provided in class), sandpaper, a ruler, a bone folder, dimensional foam adhesive squares, acrylic block, a ruler, craft knife and cutting mat or fine tipped scissors and something to score the cards (Scor-Pal, Top Score Multi Board or a stylus).
Here is a peek at the Full Circle class at 1pm on Saturday (4 spots remaining as of Wed. night).
This one is a lot of fun too! Lots of painting so bring wipes. A craft knife and mat or fine tip scissors would also be a good idea in this class.
Ok! Off to pack! I am going to Camp Croppin' through Scrapbooker's Paradise/Scrapbook, Eh. I will be teaching a bunch of Chatterbox classes and I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and new faces, too!
For those of you waiting on stuff from me (I haven't forgotten my NL ladies and the chipboard stuff) I will be back at it this week. Give me a holler if I miss something!

Hey Vicki, just a quick book suggestion for you - Firefly Lane. Its a heartwarming story about friendship, family, dreams and reality and the grey areas in between. I loved Twilight too ... though this book is a completely different kind of story. Its an easy read, with plenty of laughs and a few tears. Loved it.

hey vicki... i read "the host" also by stephanie meyer... you should give it a try. i really enjoyed it even though it made me cry a few times. the begining is weird, but once you get into it and start to understand what's going on, i think you'll enjoy.

I read the Twilight but didn't get into it about 2/3 way through. I had a hard time figuring out what the hype was about over these series. I heard it's better to read the book than the movie. So, I'm not planning on seeing the movie but reading more of the Twilight series instead.

Hi Vicki, I wanted to send a quick note about Twilight and that I totally agree that the movie was not that great after such a great book. I hear the second movie should be better and I will still check it out :) I am getting so excited about Scrapfest to.

Hi Vicki, I totally agree about the movie, I saw it in the theater first, thought it was so - so, I bought it for my daughter and we watched again and I thought that was a waste of 22.00.
Anyways, I have just finished reading the latest book of the House of Night series by P.C. & Kirsten Cast. As well as the Night World series by L.J Smith, they are all a pretty quick read, and I have just bought Wicked by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie, but haven't started yet.

I haven't read the Twilight series...not a vampire girl. I'm more of a historical fiction book fan. My two favs of the past year. The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.
My plan is to pull out the Outlander series again by Diana Gabaldon, they are a steamy historical love story with a twist.

Well I loved the Twilight series and it took me quite a while before I found a series. I have been reading all of the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. They are called the Southern Vampire series. They are much lighter than Twilight but lots of action.

Hey girl.... I am with you on the whole Twilight thing. The books were way better but it took me awhile to really sink my teeth into them. :)
I do love the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon http://www.dailyinquisitor.com/hunter/ and I always grab a Kelley Armstrong Otherworld Series book when they come out.http://www.kelleyarmstrong.com/mSeries.htm

Hey Vicki, I really liked the movie, but the thing was I couldn't be sure if I would have liked the movie as much if I had not read the books. The movie was good, but only cause I knew what they were thinking. Anyways there is another teen series if you like vamps, they are really quick bathtub reads if you know what I mean, but they are good. They are called the House of night series, but I warn you the authors (P.C.and Kristen Cast) are still writing the series. We will have to wait yet another year to find out the results. Happy Easter.

Hey Vicki
You gotta read the Sookie Stackhouse books, by Charlene Harris! They are so great, and hard to put down. If you loved Twilight, you will love this series. I am in Ontario and I ordered the series on line from Chapters.ca because I could not find them in any stores. Let me know what you think. I will see you at Scrapfest this weekend- I am on my way this afternoon.
